Reading About Your Podcast

Hey, cool to read about your podcast and see how you are applying open source to music and your blog. I put all my music in creative commons too at danosongs.com if you want to see if you like it for your podcasting. Dan

Sorry about not responding all this time. Finally I have returned to the GUI configuration cause it was easier for me at that time. But as you know, every Linux user is curious by nature, specially newbies. I believe that we can't reach fully power of our OS without understanding what's going on under GUI. Guided by that idea I've tried so many things till now and I specially appreciate your howtos. Now that I understand things better it wasn't problem to modify you new configuration script for my needs. Thank you ones again for the effort you've been doing and sharing your experiences with community.

PS. Marry Christmas and Happy New Year

T1000LE PS

I have one of those... I currently don't have a ps for mine but I use a 12VDC powersupply for in car devices. They are not all that expensive and usually are at the radio shacks. Most can support upto 5 amps so you could also run that mini car refrigerator... :) Oh and you could run that computer safely off the power in a car with no regulation as long as the car is 12VDC and not 6VDC.

Hi,

please define "can't get connection to the internet at all". Note that the script also does outbound filtering, i.e. it limits the allowed traffic from your computer to the Internet to only certain ports (not only the other direction). That can be configured/changes in the script of course. Did you try to ping some host, did you try a webbrowser etc?

HTH, Uwe.

Hello
I'd look inside you fw_laptop script and it seemed to me very interesting and secure. Actually I use firestarter to configure my firewall on Ubuntu Gutsy. So I decide to test it mostly because of possibility to disable ipv6, iana and ports above 1024. I've already blacklisted ipv6 in kernel. When I run your script for the first time I can't get connection to the internet at all. So I'd tried to remove prohibition of iana reserved addresses but even like that no net connection. I'd like to ask You, if You have time to answer, is it because I use Ubuntu or it have to do something with my laptops hardware?

Cheers from Portugal and thank You for tips and tricks You share with us

Randomly stumbling across this really made my day.

He's right, though, that the old replays he saved won't play back in newer versions of the game. However, if he were to specify which version of the game he played them with (this may well be listed inside the data files, which are plaintext), a person could download that version from the archives, and view the replays within it.

Does anyone know a way to determine the "currently active" virtual terminal? As in the one currently being displayed on the console. I'd be terribly interested in being able to do that.

Fixed, thanks.

Please note that the files probably no longer work with newer versions of the game (the file format has changed).

This works on my m45. Might need to be adjusted to your mainboard setiup.

1. Log into Root Terminal

2. Type

cd /etc
vi rc.local ***You can use your fav text editor instead of vi ie. pico/nano**

3. add this line after the commented out section (# = comment) but before exit0

setpci -s 06.3 4c=0x22

exit, save, rebewt, voila.
