Any way of making this thing show up as a usb device inside of vmware fusion rather than a sound device in osx.
I want the output from it in fusions vm machine and my mac output in my mac!
so far no joy..

Have you tried to use the menu option of vmware to connect the usb sound device to vmware?

Sorry, I don't know much about Mac OS X and I refuse to even look at VMware as it's closed-source, so I cannot help much here.

Hey, does your microphone is working? Mine not, I can hear only a noise, and it looks, like this device is able to capture at only 24kHz sampling rate (arecord on hw:1,0).

Just installed it, and when I connect my speakers to it, it has a continuous 'buzz' or 'beep' as background noise. Really annoying.

Usb audio noise

you need a ground loop isolator to get rid of that noise with the USB audio interface. radio shack has them for $16.99

It's the snd-usb-audio driver, I think. I doubt that this device has any 3D features or similar, and if it has I don't know how they're used.

3d usb audio

i just bought a mac mini and plan to use this for mic input for voice chat and speech recognition since mac audio input is line level. i hope it'll work fine.

3D card with mac mini

I have tested it with mac mini but I have problems with the microphone. It plays a continuous noise. Tested with two headsets, and on one of them I get a poor input. Have you find a solution (some settings in OSX) or the card is broken?

Microphone noise

I tested one of this gadgets, and I experienced terrible noise recording sound with a microphone on Windows XP and Mac OS X Leopard. I brought it back to the shop for a replacement, there we tested 5 more usb soundcards and every one had the same problem, so I do not recomend this.

All is broken in digital domain not analog

Ground loop is not going to help. Bad record quality is because recording is only 8-bit packed to 16-bit at the output, so you have at best 48dB of SNR, which with MIC +20dB boost option enabled in recrding section of Windows mixer gives you 28dB of usable dynamic range. This card is broken from the begining, it's OK only for playback, it plays 16-bit, stereo sound, without any noises.
