Blast from the past - here's a nice instrumental song from the 1920s. Enjoy!
(via Starfrosch)
Song: William H. Reitz - Dill Pickles Rag (Xylophone Solo) (2:30 min, 2.3 MB)
License: Most probably Public Domain, as the song is from 1922. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Unfortunately...
Unfortunately, the majority of music recorded before 1972 is almost NEVER public domain in the United States and never will be. It's a shame, because there are so many wonderful recordings that have gone out of print and can't be brought back because the owners can't be found.

Love the podcast!
Copyright
Hi Kathy, I'm glad that you like my podcast!
Regarding copyright - you're right unfortunately, lots of old songs are probably "lost". However, doesn't there exist an international treaty that copyright of any work expires after a certain amount of years?
The Wikipedia article on Copyright says that "In the United States, all books and other items published before 1923 have expired copyrights and are in the public domain". That should apply to this specific song, right?
Am I missing something?
Uwe.
